Editorial Standards
Editorial Policy
The principles that govern how we report, source, edit, and stand behind our journalism.

Editorial independence
Investment Income Research is editorially independent. Our reporting is determined by news judgment and reader interest, never by advertisers, sponsors, or commercial partners. No outside party reviews our coverage before publication.
Sourcing and evidence
We prioritize primary sources: official rules, filings, data, and named experts. Where we rely on estimates, models, or assumptions, we say so and explain the inputs. We do not present hypotheticals as outcomes.
- Claims of fact are attributed or independently verifiable.
- Named sources are preferred; anonymous sourcing is a last resort with editor approval.
- Data is dated, and its origin is disclosed.
Reporting versus opinion
We distinguish news reporting from analysis and opinion. Analytical pieces are clearly framed as such, and they are held to the same standards of fairness and accuracy as straight reporting.
Not financial advice
Our journalism is general information, not personalized financial, tax, or legal advice. We do not recommend specific securities. Readers should consult a qualified professional before acting. See our Ethics Policy for how we handle conflicts of interest.
Corrections
We correct errors promptly and transparently. Read how in our Corrections Policy, and see our Fact-Checking Policy for how claims are verified before publication.
